Jesus died for religion, but He rose for relationship

It’s hard to put into words all that God did in the lives of people this weekend at Community Church. Records were set in numbers, which we celebrate, because we believe every number has a name and every name matters to God… yet it was much more than that. We encountered multiple obstacles from the weather to technical issues at both campuses, to crazy traffic and overflow seating – all things that could have made the experience less than enjoyable for some. But today went beyond that. Even with the obstacles, God moved powerfully in each and every service. I know so many have lived decades with regret, so many who have sat in church for years and still lived with “I wish I would have done it differently” as an unfortunate mantra for their life… But today, that changed. It changed for thousands upon thousands of people who said I’m choosing Jesus as the “what if” key to my future and I’m trading in the regrets that have kept my dreams locked up.

I know I will never fully comprehend what God did in the lives of people today; but I do know that thousands will never be the same; they were changed for the better. Jesus came alive, so I could come alive, and I feel more alive than ever!!

Finally, this weekend was only possible because of the nearly 1000 volunteers who served, got wet in the rain, changed diapers, found chairs and places for people to sit and park we didn’t know existed, people who let Jesus use them; you rocked it for Jesus today and I hope you know I am forever grateful for you!
