Day 16 of 21 day fast

Day 16 of 21 day fast

I’m amazed at how God continues to speak to people on this church wide fast. Today I’m sharing a devotion with you written by Evan Boyle. Evan serves on our staff and is a leader in multiple areas of our church.

God is Able

Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

What was the last task you undertook that you needed to ask a friend for help because you just couldn’t complete it on your own? Was it a challenge to find someone to assist you? Did you ever doubt that you could complete the challenge even with their support? One amazing truth from the Bible is that God is able to do all that we ask of him. Even more, the Apostle Paul states that God is able to do all that we ask or what we could even imagine. This means that God can even do those things that we might not have the faith to ask for but can only dream of. But it doesn’t stop there, as God is able to do more abundantly than what we could ask or even imagine. And just in case you weren’t convinced, Paul says that God is able to do far more abundantly than all that we could ask or imagine. It is awesome to know that when it comes to our prayers being answered, there is no limit on God’s end to do what we ask! God’s indescribable power ensures that all things are possible for those who believe. So when we walk through trial or difficulty, we must trust in God’s power to overcome any circumstance. He is our Father who loves to give good gifts to his children – especially when we need him and ask for his help.

How does knowing and trusting in God’s ability to answer change the way you pray?

Prayer:
Lord, thank you that you are able to do far more abundantly than I could ever ask or imagine. I believe that all things are possible for those who believe. This year I desire to pray first and pray bold prayers. Help me to ask in faith knowing that you are able to answer. Amen.
