Day 12 of 21 day fast

Day 12 of 21 day fast

We have past the halfway point in our fast!!

Today I’m sharing with you a blog from Pastor Jason Hawks. Jason serves on the care team that WB campus and is our facilities manager.

Psalm 139:23-24“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, And lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

It is easy to go through the motions of life at times. This can be true as a Christian too.  We can get up in the morning, pray and read our Bibles; just check the box. We can do all of these things, but not let any of it impact us or change us.

Psalm 139 gives us a great prayer model for breaking this pattern of going through the motions.  We should seek not our own assessment of how we are doing, but instead seek God’s assessment.  This does not mean that we should never do self-assessments, they are valuable, but we have blind spots, especially when it comes to ourselves.  God’s assessment of us will always be loving, honest, challenging and sometimes painful, but that’s okay.

God’s perspective is always better than ours.  Our perspective gets clouded with our circumstances or comparisons.  Seek Him first, His perspective and then follow His path. Do this and know “The best is yet to come!”
